Membership Has Its Privileges

OMHRA presents two provincial events each year; our Spring Workshop in April and our Fall Conference in September. These events focus on education, professional development and networking in a relaxed and fun environment.

You'll have the opportunity to learn more about what is happening with your colleagues across the province, in the world of employment and labour law and other areas such as communications, security, bargaining and contingency planning.

OMHRA also holds timely one-day workshops. The workshops are typically held in north Toronto at a location with access to major highways for ease of access to delegates. They are topical and meant to address emerging issues of the day. Our news- letter "The Echo" is produced quarterly. The Echo is sent out to all members, sponsors and retirees electronically and features articles that are topical of the day.

Benefits of Membership

  • Attendance at the annual spring workshop and fall conference including seminars throughout the year on topics of interest at a low registration fee.
  • The ability to network with other Human Resources Professionals in Local Government.
  • Updates on recent collective agreement settlements and arbitration results within the OMHRA membership are regularly posted on our member-only site. Established bargaining guidelines are provided each year to assist all local government employers in their collective bargaining.
  • Access to OMHRA's own database of collective agreements, salary information, policies and procedures as well as survey results.
  • Development of position papers and submissions to the Provincial Government on matters of local government interest.
  • Quarterly editions of " ECHO" the Association's newsletter.
  • A confidential membership listing to each member for contact information on a yearly basis (listing includes; names, addresses, phone number, fax number and email address).
